Pretty sure mines far off so i dont even look at it anymore unless i'm reseting

 

Mine has always been pretty accurate

 

I only use mine for an average reading --- oil change to oil change. I calculate out anytime I want a reading on a particular tank. I will use the overhead if on a long trip to get an average of the entire trip.

mine is a little off. But I don't really check it anymore if I wanted MPG I would have got a prius but then I realized since I am a Man and live in America I need to own a high horsepower low mpg bad *** dodge truck

 

The overhead readout always seems to be anywhere from .5 to 1 MPG higher than when I figure it up by hand. I always wait until I only have about two gallons left before I fill up though. I'm not sure if that would have anything to do with it. It really doesn't matter to me though I almost always figure it up myself when I fill up.

 

I got a prius. I took out my spare tire and have a prius strapped under my truck in case i get a flat. It's easier than changing the tire in the rain.

 

Good point rotdog. I was just wondering because I was getting about 9.5 MPG with almost all in town driving (I'm not a lead foot). Switched to 89 octane and get about 12MPH now. Some people are saying they get 17 MPG or so. No way in my truck. I'll get 17MPG if I'm going 55 MPH and never have to stop and get going again.

 

BromR: Did you notice much of a MPG difference when you took out your spare and mounted the Prius? Probably not much anyway.

 

i reset mine and i'm still getting like 12 in city, maybe i should start filling up with 89?

 

I get the same MPG. I think the weight of the prius is actually less than a 33inch tire.
