Trailer wiring harness question
my truck is a 2002 ram 1500 2wd reg cab 4.7l
it did not come with the hitch receiver but it does have a 4PIN under the bumper and my build sheet says its wired. well i purchased the hitch and the oem 7 pin trailer plug to mount in my bumper.
my question is---i was told the 4 pin would plug into the back of the 7 pin plug to convert it...i found out that is not true. get my 4 pin to the 7 pin? and does my truck have the standard towing harness that is on all tow packages?

If it did not come with the hitch and 7 pin, then it is not a factory tow package. All of them came with the standard 4 pin. Your choices are: hack into the harness with a 7 pin setup, then figure out how to wire a brake controller in; pay someone else to do it; install mopar factory kit ($$); pay someone else to do it (even more $$).
