Default custom factory intake box?

I haven't really looked it over yet, but was thinking or trying to cut out most of the sides and bottom of the factory intake box. Then install a high flow filter, and the airaid intake tube I bought. Anybody do anything like this?

the stock air box has pretty decent airflow as it is. if you got the airraid tube that deletes the restrictive hemi hat, then get yourself a nice K&N drop in, and youll be set with a pretty nice intake system that is better than stock.

Good, that is what I like to hear. Didn't really want to spend a couple hundred on an intake. Like to do a 2" front level kit, custom catback (can't decide between magnaflow or flowmaster 50 mufflers), lock right locker, and a superchips tuner. Love the hemi, just want a lil' more power and some sound.

Intake wont cost no couple of hundred. I like your idea of a tuner and if you want more sound get an electric cutout on the exhaust

I made an intake from some mandrel bent pipe...straight shot almost, removes the plastic noise box. Sounds great now! I can't post attachments, but some pix are in my portion of the picture gallery...
