Default Voltage drops from low to zero, ABS + brake lite on

03 RAM HEMI with 30k miles
Thing has been running fine, sits a lot in the summer. Then it stalls and won't start. Put in a new battery and it will now start but I am having loss of power. If I turn the key and do or don't start it the voltage moves slowly to about 1/4 then drops to zero and stays there. What do you think, alternator? Bad ground? Other symptoms before replacing battery, no power steering and loss of engine power.
Thanks for any suggestions anyone might have.
Mike

Actually my daughter was driving it, the loss of power steering was probably from when it stalled.

Just took it for a spin since changing the battery. ABS and brake light went out, truck running fine. The only remaining symptom is the voltage indicator. Still doing the same thing, reading low then zero.
