I actually like those 09 rims... and if your goin flat/satin black, just sand them down to the aluminum, use a good primer, and then paint them. they do take more effort to take care of them, i tried to wax a spot on my rim, and it didnt turn out good. im still trying to find a product that will help protect them.

but its been acouple months and mine are holding up great!!

i agree with everyone that says the 09 rims suck.. its like each year they keep going flatter and flatter no crazyness to them.. idk the only rims other then the stock 08 rims that i would like to paint are the 09 challengers rims paint them black and they have lines going down the middle to paint the same color as your truck it would look bad ***..

What happened to the rims that you got before? Just not like them?
For the new rims, as said, have someone else do it. Without any clear coat on it, if you take it off-road, you will tear the **** out of the paint. I painted the push bar on my old truck, and the clear coat on that wasn't the best job, but it didn't hold up that well to sand roads.

you could powder coat them flat black. powder coating last longer and is more durable than paint.

Paint:

Flat Black clear coating:

If you use the Matte Finish on top of the flat black coat, it should help to protect them, and still give you a nice flat black finish.

If you are going to beat the rims I would say go with powdercoat, it will hold up much better than paint. My paint has lasted but I only use my truck for daily driving and hauling building materials.
