Ok, so some of you may know I am looking for a new (used) truck. I am deciding whether or not to trade in this one or sell it on my own. I have been offered $5000 trade in about 10000 miles ago. I was just curious what you guys think I could get. BB says about $6500 max for retail, but I know that I have to go with private party, which aint much.

Its the 2002 1500 V6. ChromeIntakes CAI, fender flares, really good tread on tires, tow hitch, LED lightstrip, tonneau cover, bed liner, window vent visors, brushguard, Clarion radio, and very clean and great shape inside and out. It has 101000 miles on it too. If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it cuz I found a 2007 2500 that I would really love to get. Will be looking at it this week!!

I think the $5000 trade in is a good deal, according to edmunds tmv dealer trade in is about $4000 on your truck.

 

Yes, if you were offered 5k trade in I say take it. That is a good price plus the tax savings on your new truck. I would take of the fender flairs and tonneau and extra stuff if that wouldn't effect the trade in value and sell it on craigslist though. If I could get 5k out of my '02 ram I would be extremely happy.

 

Alright cool thanks guys....heading to the dealership to look another truck tomorrow and see what they will offer me....I have been doing my homework and I have the NADA info printed for the trucks I have looking at..so I guess its time for some dealing to occur!!!
