Default Brake controller causing check gauge light?

Afternoon All,
I recently had a camper shop install a Tekonsha electric brake controller in my 04 quad cab 5.7. Every time I step on the brake now, the check gauge light (and annoying alarm) comes on. It started out only occasionally and now after about 2 weeks it is every time I step on the brake. I've called the shop and they have never heard of this before. Thought I would check here to see if anyone has any ideas before I make the trek back there and leave my truck for the day. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Matt

watch your oil gauge when it happens, and check your oil level

^^^+1 to the above and if not then sounds like a Ground issue or maybe they tapped into an incorrect wire for the power?

Thanks guys. I am embarased to say you were correct. The oil gauge was not moving but I checked the oil and was low. Added a quart and it's fine. I've never run low on oil before, I wonder if I'm starting to burn it. Truck only has 50k on it. Anyway, thanks. Feel kinda silly, but glad, it was this simple.
