steering wheels shakes....

If your getting any shake or wobble without hitting your brakes (after bumps or turing) its the tie rod ends.

If you have a 1500 with IFS it CANNOT be death wobble. That is a SFA issue only.

Not cessenarilly, You may have an incorrect wheel balance. Have both sides of your wheels balanced. Thats what i have done everytime. Im willing to sacrifice a few scratches on the rim for tire life and a smooth ride. Use a reputable tire dealer and request the most experienced tech to get the best balance and find out how old the equipment that they use is.

If your gonna swap your brakes out, I just (Yesterday) put EBC rotors and pads on the front of my truck. When i was looking around, to get the best quality rotors and pads from NAPA, it was about the same price. Surprisingly, after 67000+ miles, the back rotors are still like new. Had them turned and put ceramic pads from NAPA on the back. Put about 100 miles on it yesterday after I finished it and it stops like a dream. Still taking it easy because everything needs time to bed in, but it went from more than half pedal to stop to barely having to press the pedal at all.

ressurected from the pitsssss......alright guys its time to go out and get new pads and rotors as i have the money in my pocket and the old pads are wore down so i dont feel like im throwing out good pads.... for one how do i check my tie rod ends for play? and the ultimate question is napa or duralast.....remember i dont wanna spend my left arm and right leg......somebody said duralast for 156.00 that sounds good whats the diff on napa.......

look at what dirtydog said... find out what the pads are made of. as for rotars, i'm not sure...
to check the tie rod ends just grab hold of it, and yank it back and forth... if theres play you may need new ones. they arent too bad to replace.
let us know how it works out, i kinda have the same problem

if thats how you check em i did that when i rotaed tires and they are good....im being told to get mopar pads and turn my rotors if they are still in spec.....and thats by a friend thats a tech

turning rotors would probably be the cheapest route.

i dont know with the 1500 but in my 2500 i had the same issue months ago . felt it in the pedal and wheel ...the wobble as you say . warranty work was done . it was the upper and lower stearing links. pop your hood find the stearing shaft it should move back and fourth about 1/8 of a inch any more ....wobbble under breaking. trust me on this one . but like i said i have a 2500 not a 1500 . and one more thing ....a reading from the book of poon....god said good luck my friend may you find your course ..RH 4.12

Yes, factory pads are a good choice and turning the rotors would be a good route also. Its cheaper! Quality pads are more important than quality rotors believe it or not.
