Hemi squeek at shut off
Hey everyone got a quick question...recently when i turn my truck off it gets a squeak right before shes completely off but just a tiny one.....belts??? anything i should look at first that we have been having problems with???
Oor just a new belt. The make a "belt dressing" that you can spray on it to get it to grip. If you are careful (and I have done this before) you can get a bar of dry soap and with the truck running and at idle, take the bar and hold it on the under side of the belt so that the belt rubs and wears into the bar. It also will give it some grip. These are not permanant fixes but just temps.
It could be something as simple as a lot of compression in the engine and sometimes when you cut it off some of the pistons are on their way up on the compression stroke and being the valves are closed and pressure is there plus the fact you cut it off right then may just be it doesnt have enough "umph" to finish the rotation and "slighty" goes backwards just a bit but enough to go against the belt and thats when you get the squeak.
