Default Looking at a 2007 4 door 5.7L HEMI Big Horn Edition What are the Pro's & con's?

I have it sitting in my driveway tonight told the dealer that I had to sleep on it before I signed on the line for it.

What are some of the Good points about the 2007 1500 ram with the 5.7HEMI and also what are some of the trouble spots some of you have had with it.

Everything on this truck seems sweet but so is the price. Seems to be very clean inside and out with just a couple of small inperfections I have found in the paint. It is a Dark Blue not sure what they call it but I will be using this truck for mostly play. I have a bad habit of driving though our timber and sometimes though a shallow Creek or 2 while deer hunting on our land and checking trial cams. I still keep them clean inside and out so this would not get trashed just washed a lot.

My Play toy before was my 2003 Durango with a 4.7L engine I would still be driving it if I wouldn't have been in the wrong place at the wrong time last Sunday. I got caught in a hail storm that had GOLFBALL SIZED HAIL and 70 mph winds. looks like a elephant stomped up and down and all over my Durango. It is totaled so I figure it is time to move up.

Any Input on moving up to the 2007 1500 ram would be great.

well the main problem with the 07s is that their headlights are really big like bug eyes. but some people have found a solutiion to them by painting some eye lids over the lense. it seems to be working well so far.

theres also some problems about the ride quality. it seems to ride a little rough and tends to jump alot on uneven pavement, kinda like what a truck would do when driven.

on the positive note, it has 4 doors..

Post 06 Ram

I have a 06 Ram with 5.7 and love it. Only drawback is the gas milage. I only got 8,100 miles on mine.If you drive a lot of miles could get expensive. But the power is so sweet!

Default GO for it

i have a 07 big horn with a 5.7 and it is great. it would even better if the elevation where i live was lower by like 6000feet. But the truck has alot of power and it can pull trailers and loads like nothing, sometimes i forget i am pulling anything. Its a good truck i have had mine for 2 years and never once has it given me any problems. If you do keep it get an intake it really really helps it breath better. You'll notice the diffrence garenteed.

I agree about the headlights being large. Personally, I prefer them over the smaller 02-05 heads.

As far as the ride quality, it does ride like a truck. However, the ride is light years ahead of the 02-05 suspension. No two ways about it. The difference is in the improved front suspension. Coil springs are always smoother than torsion bars. Always. The rear suspension is unchanged.
