I'm thinking of getting the Power wire but

1. I'm not sure what it does exactly and

2. what is it hooked up too??

Is it the wire that plugs into the air intake tube intake with the little sensor on it??

Thanks, H-

I'm kind of surprised you haven't seen or searched for one of the threads where it's been discussed. Anyway the power wire plugs into the IAT sensor which is in the air intake and advances timing by tricking the pcm into thinking the incoming air is cooler than it actually is. It uses a 4.7 ohm resistor to do this and you can easily solder some extra wire and a resister into your current wiring for the same effect (a quick search should give you more info).

^^^ is correct, it tricks it to think its 22* cooler actually and yes they can be made. I have made several for more than a few guys who would rather spend a few than a lot for the same thing. If you want directions and are good with a soldering iron then PM me.

This may make me look stupid but arent those little black performance boxes like mind blower performance etc......resistors that splice into the IAC the same thing?

IDK about Mind Blowing Preformance but they are 4.7k 1/4watt resistors. Im sure you could put them in a box and call it whatever you want.

I had a feeling they were the same things, my last two vehicles had these resistors wired into the IAC. They had been advertised on ebay, there are many different names for them, they remind be of a stereo sinal amplifier they made years ago, when you open the nifty little box, there was nothing in it except the wire going straight through it. Can you say SCAM????? Its amazing what people will buy into these days.
