Post Need Help Please

I have a 2004 4.7L ram 1500. I am having trouble with it overheating, I have put
a new radiator and new thermostat in it ,also put fresh coolant in. I started it up
turned on the heater full blast til it got to operating temp. Cool air was coming
out of the vent but was not hot. Also there were no coolant coming out
of the top radiator hose causing it to get way to hot. The temp gauge stays between
half and hot. Would anyone know how to fix this? Any help would help me out
alot. Thank you

If you look around a bit, there are a lot of guys having overheating issues with 4.7s and have blown headgaskets. There was just one the other day with him having oil in his water which is slightly diff than yours maybe but still the same problem. Do a bit of searching here and you will see. Ive seen so many of these same threads here in the last month and they all had 4.7s.

With the gauge registering midway between the mid-point and hot, it should be throwing out very hot air. Try the simple things first like making sure you got the air out of the system. If you are not losing coolant, you have a blockage. What was the reason you replaced the radiator, was it damaged and possible some material got caught after you replaced it?

If you are losing coolant and you do not find a leak, start looking at the head gasket as weedahoe suggested.

Good Luck
