Default Do I have to take the exhaust pipe off?

I'm going to be replacing my exhaust manifold gaskets on both sides on my 4.7 (04 Ram 1500 ), my question is, do I have to take the exhaust pipe off the manifold? If I leave it on is there enough room to work around to scrape off the old gasket and put the new one one?

Thanks

Thanks guys, those nuts and bolts that connect the exhaust pipe to the manifold don't even look like nuts and bolts anymore, they look like barnacles. I'm pretty sure they'll either break or I'll have to cut them off if I try to take them off, so I'd like to not mess with them unless I have to.
