welll when i took them off i got kinda restless so i took a razor blade to the adhesive still on the truck and that turned out to be a horrible mistake. i had metal deep scratches on the spots where my badges were. so i went to a body shop and got an estimate on what it would take to fix it all, both doors and the tailgate. i got the low low price of 1300 out the door. lolz i told them id get back with them. so this was a cheap way to seal the scratches and make my truck unique. when i had the letters off i almost threw them away but just tosssed them into my bed like i wont need these again. when i did it i tried to make them a mirror black, or black chrome with the vht and that didnt work out at all. i tried that on the A and didnt work at all, so i tossed the A. but i realized that it would be cheaper to put them back on than get teh body shop to do it and now i was without a A for the ram. so i looked on ebay and got an A for about 3$ shipped to my house. after that i just took on myself to make my truck look better. i started by takin sand paper to all the letters and got every nook and cranny. not overboard but just enought to scratch the surface to where i couldnt see any reflection in them. than i went and bought the krylon glossy black plastic spray paint. i went over the letters about 8 times to make sure there was no flaws. you could do less but i was down with the overkill. than when i was ready to put them back on i was lucky enough to have the shadows still in the paint. but i went to autozone to get the emblem adhesive that comes in a tube like rtv. let me tell you what that **** is useless. itll stick it to your truck but its like cheese, you put some on the back of the emblem and than it wants to connnect everything. it creates a bunch of long strings that will never break they just stretch out some more. so annoying. so i was lucky enough that when i ordered the letter off ebay the guy included some double sided adhesive. this stuff was the bomb, i could cut it with a scissor to any shape i wanted. that is what i would look for if i had to do it again. to put them on i just followed the shadows in the paint and used a level with a long straight edge on it to make sure they were in sinc. i had to make sure that the bubble was a lil forward of the line cause my truck sits higher in the front than the rear. i was hopin that someone would like the rear ram decal cause thats unique. i took the back plating off which was sooooo hard cause its like melted plastic holds on it and im soo lucky that i didnt break the emblem. but all in all take your time and do it in full sunlight cuz that makes it easier

but if u ended up using some kind of a glue to repatch the letters, it wouldnt be able to get debadged again.

those double sided adhesive sponge like tape are totally awsome and sick well to paint, but not plastic. but they are fun to cut out into shapes

the back was actually the easiest for me when i did my 08. i jusy masked off around it and painted it on the truck. did you scuff when you tried the vht? i didn't i thought it would take away from the black chrome look. i just cleaned it really good 2 coats vht and some clear and ploish. lasted for 1 1/2 and then i traded my truck in. it still looked new last time i that i saw it. just a tip for anyone who reads this and is interested in doing this. good looking truck by the way. any plans on painting the mirrors and door handles?

I didn't notice the back emblem until you said that. I really like the way that it looks. That definitely is unique, and nicely color matched.
