anybody ever removed the sirius antenna from the top of your truck?

The antenna is on the top of the cab in the back near the 3rd light. Now, I'm 6'3" tall and can barely see it up there. I see no real good reason to take it off unless you have a slammed truck or car. Even then, the antenna is very sleek and low. You can only see it from the back of the truck.
You would also have to snip the wires as they are glued to the headliner and run all the way to the radio. Sounds like a leak waiting to happen. I would guess there is a 3/8" size hole underneath the antenna. I should have looked when i had my headliner down????
