Default a concern with my transmission..

Well its on my 2004 dodge ram with a 4.7 L it has a 5-45Rfe transmission in it. it has 117k miles on it and i just recently got it serviced. So When i start it up and put it in gear and then try to go it will crawl a little bit then take off. is if i put it N to D while giving it a little gas. im completly stop when im putting it from P to D or R to D and it does it. I only notice on cold start ups. Yesterday i backed out and stopped completly put it in D and then took my foot off my brake and gave it a little gas and it felt like it barely got put in gear and skidded the tires a bit. So i dont know is this normal? Should i let the Engine warm up more so the idle wont be at 800 to 1000 rpms? Any suggestions on this would be a gr8 help! thanks

if you got the transmission serviced at a mechanic, and its acting funny now, i would definitely be taking it back to that place for a check up on their dime.

I'm sure he means serviced as in Transmission fluid/filter change or possibly a flush.
Taking it back won't get him anywhere but back out the door. Flushes bring out an existing problem or can actually create a problem if the filter isn't changed before hand which is an extra expense on the customer. that's why flushes get a bad reputation because people are cheap and take the easy way out OR are simply misinformed on how to properly take care of things.

If you haven't had a flush and have this problem, i would take it in for a flush as it may resolve this issue and clean out all of the lines.
If that isn't your issue, it also could be torqu converter failure. transmissions are tough to diagnose over the web.

Ya i got a transmission flush and transfer case too. with a new filter. So today i did a little bit of driving on the freeway and it shifted fine and everything and i exited the freeway and came to a stop pushed on the gas and rpms went up to 2k the truck barely moved then chirped the tires. stopped again and it did it again.. drove it some more and i noticed when i came to a stop my idle in Drive was 1000 to 1100 and it would bounce down and up from 500 to 1100 but it didnt do any shaking. I got home and i put it in Nuetral and the rpms shot up to 1500 and pushed back on the gas pedal to see if it was stuck down but it wasnt. and pushed on the gas and it went back down to 600 rpms and all was normal then? Could this be a throttle issue? What can cause a sticking throttle and bouncy idle? thanks 4 the replies!

Are 04's fly-by-wire for the gas? if so that could be a cause of the problem.

yes i do beleive its a flyby wire. So what sensors is there that affects the throttle? just the TPS? Also when wanting to barely accelerate i notice the gas pedal is a little stiff with the first slight push?. Do these engines have a Mass air flow sensor? Should i clean the IAC valve? thanks!
