Default Slowly Coming Along

Well, I've got my programmer ordered and I'm in the middle of ordering my CAI. All I want done now is the exhaust and I'll be done for a while. At least with the performance mods. How much extra hp/torque/mpg do you think I'll be getting overall? I believe the programmer will be around 20hp(?) and the CAI claims to give an extra 10hp. Does that sound about right and how much do you think the exhaust will give if I do the headers all the way back? I plan on doing ss but don't know too much about the system itself. Cat back, cut-out, etc. It's all Greek to me. Any suggestions?

Again, I know my posts seem pretty redundant , but I just want to get the most outta my truck. Thanks for putting up with me .

I recommend skipping the CAI and getting an e-fan with the money you save.

How do I actually go about doing this? Is there a how-to somewhere and is it difficult? I understand the concept just have never heard of it or seen it.

With a programmer, intake, and exhaust your looking to gain around 15 hp.

Do you think it's really worth it to do all that and only get 15hp? Kinda sucks knowing the 09 is coming out stock with 390hp, .

Yep, that what the numbers on the top end said, it gained 10rwhp. Only downside is that is top end power, but the lowend grunt is going to suffer without a few extra items than what he has posted.

Its worth it. Get the truck breathing better, sounding better and acting better is going to net you some gains in both performance and mpg. Doing exactly what you are doing (tuner/exhaust/intake) netted me around 268 to the wheels as far as peak power goes. Nothing to brag about really since its a hell of a loss through the drivetrain. But with those things on, it felt much better than the stock setup did and got better mpg than the stock setup.

What tuner/exhaust/intake are you looking at getting or getting already?

they will make ur engine run SMOOTHER making u think u are getting alot more horsepower but with all that stuff it may only drop ur quarter mile like a tenth. here or there.....u would be better off with weight reductions if u want speed. but i also enjoy my CAI giving my engine a smoother feal!!!!

My SC 3865 is on its way. I'm really leaning toward the K&N 57 series FIPK. I know K&N is a pretty trusted name/brand and I know a lot of people that have their stuff. I was thinking of a Borla exhaust but not sure what model. I like the XR-1 but not really sure of all my options, still.
