Vht nite shades correct way to apply

Ok so for my first nite shades attempt i did my 3rd brake light.i used 6 total coats of nite shades and about 13 total coats of clear with some wet sanding in between.its dark but the light still shines through.im gonna attempt my tail lights this weekend and i will video it and put it on youtube for everyone to see. Ill def go lighter on those-maybe 3 coats.all my coats of nite shades are light coats.
