Default flashing the code

How do I flash the code for the check engine light on the odometer. I remember reading there was a way. Anyone know?

turn your accessory on (but dont start it), three times and leave it on the third time you do it. it should read you the codes and then say done.

on,off,on,off,on....

Turn the accessory on, as in turn the key over one notch,nbut don't start it, right?

Not to be pickey but so noone else gets confused, turn the "ignition" on then off. To turn the accessory on you would be turning the key backwards.

I don't believe this is the same for Fords. I just got the CEL this morning and I disconnected the battery and cleared the memory so it's gone now. But who's to say that it won't come back anytime soon? I appreciate this thread as it was my understanding the the on-off-on-off-on trick didn't work on the 3rd gen trucks.. guess I gotta come back here more often as this place has the best info I can find!
