I have an 05 2500 CTD. I think it has the NV5600 because on the tranny case it has an NG symbol. My question is when did Dodge change to the G56? and which tranny is better

 

dodge has stopped shipment of the G-56. apparetly theres a problem with the dual mass flywheel needed to keep the G-56 from being slung apart from the torque coming off the Cummins. the G-56's are supposed to appear in 05 as soon as all the NV5600's run out, or unless it's ordered with a G-56.

the best way to tell if you have the NV5600 is ir reverse is next to 5th on the stick. the G-56 is down by 2nd, I think
