Emergency.... HELP!
I just bought a K&N air filter cleaning kit. But I'm not using it on a K&N filter. The guy at Auto Barn said that the air intake filter my truck was equipped with was just as good. And that I could use this cleaning kit on it. I feel i sprayed to much air filter oil onto the filter.
Am I in for some major trouble here? Or as the filter dries eventually everything will be okay?

It is a 2006 Ram 5.7 Hemi Engine. It's one of those lifetime filters. Definitely not a paper throw away filter. I've had the truck for exactly 2 days. I feel that the only problem will be extra drying time for the filter. But again I'm not sure. Just do not want to have any lasting problems because of this situation.
Got a camera? Take a picture of it, most of the reusable one's are cotton gauze and they're fine to use k&n cleaning kits on. Just wipe up the extra oil w/ some paper towels and let the filter dry out before putting it back in.
I washed and cleaned my filters some time back. After letting the dry I sprayed with oil as you did and then set them out to dry. I am sure some of it got atomized in the incoming air and through the TB and digested by the engine but overall I didnt have any issues. I will not reclean and reused them again though. Its nothing against the filters. Its just my judgement and not feeling right about keep using the same filter on the truck. IDK care if its lifetime or not. You CANNOT get ALL the dust and debri out.
Im with Weedahoe on this one.For the 30 bucks for my K&N,when it gets bad ill buy a new one.It just doesnt seem right to try to clean a air filter.Although i know alot of equipment operators blow out there equipment filters once and replace the next time with no problems. But not in my hemi.
