yeah my bro just bought a 2002 5.9 4door ram the other day. He is the one that has been building my motor. Anyway he is going through a very indepth tune up. And droped the tranny pan and found a 1" piece of a clip for the overdrive cluches. Anyway we yanked the tranny out for dad to rebuild it while he is going to be out of town for a couple of weeks for work. Question I am 99% sure that it is a 46re trans but want comformation from someone that knows for sure before we order a trans kit.

4- 4 speed
6- duty rating(halfton)
R- rearwheel drive
e- Electronic

that doesnt help me dude! I need to know what trans he has for sure I have the id numbers off the trans also.

btw i have a 408 in my ram right now!!!!

 

count the tranny pan bolts and go to your local auto parts store and ask for a filter kit. They will know which tranny you do in fact have.

Oh, hell, I didn't realize that was you. LOL Even in the 2002, they had the 46RE.

 

I'm pretty sure you are correct on your information. As far as descrption. You are correct on the "6" being duty rating as the SRT's have "8".

 

Also, I posted up a Complete Kennebell supercharger kit off Ebay the other day that was listed for $1200.. FYI.. Becuz those 5.9's need that extra power..lol
