i see 3m hood scoops that come ready to paint and that say they are made specificly for the dodge ram on ebay for like $100-$150 shipped.the company also says these are made in their shop to keep costs down.they apply with the 3m tape and say they will not fly off or anything like that.

so would these be ok to buy and install or do u guys think they will not stay on?? Any help would be great!

 

Id be willing to bet that 75% of the scoops you see on vehicles are taped on with 3M tape...should be just fine.

 

A lot of guys have the stick on scoops. Some look good and others well, not so good. If it is a quality piece and installed properly it can look nice. Take a look at BEAR's truck, he has a stick on I believe and it looks good.

 

Mine is a stick on SRT type clone, actually bought it as a band aid for a hood mishap. I had a problem with the tape coming up, but it was my fault, they specifically say to do it on a day over 65 degrees and I put mine on at about 50 degrees. The hot summer sun hit the scoop and it expanded a bit and lifted the tape up. I cut the scoop off, cleaned both the truck and scoop with an eraser wheel and applied new 3m tape on a 90 degree day.
Never been an issue since...
