4x4 dash indicator light not working

4x4 dash indicator light not working
I have a 2005 dodge ram 4x4! when I pull my 4x4 shift lever the truck engages into four wheel drive, but 4x4 indicators do not show up on my dash! what are possible causes for this?

I have a 2005 1500 ram 5.7 mine did the same thing and I do have a manual floor shift and it was that switch on top of transfer case. You can actually get the sensor from autozone it a Dorman 600-511 $9.99
It says it doesn't fit but it is identical connector and all, i just put it in working fine now. And the Dorman one comes with new oring
