If i take my rear bumper off my truck so i can have it painted,can i just bolt on a piece of wood in its place for the time being untill i get the bumper back?? Or is that illegal?

 

Check your State & Local laws. I'm sure it will vary.

 

How long will you be without a bumper? If it's not long you can probably throw a piece of wood in its place or just drive without a bumper but make sure your LP is clearly displayed somewhere.

go to the Massachusetts General Laws, I believe motor vehicle requirements are under chapter 90.
