hi guys just wondering if anyone has towed with the mds? on flat highway roads should i tow 3000lbs with the tow haul off or will this be hard on the engine? will the truck even drop to four cylinders while towing? how should i go about it?thanks.

I've forgot to push the button once or twice while towing my 17' aluminum hull boat and yeah it will kick into 4 mode after you get up to speed, not sure how much my boat weighs but I'm sure its prob better to use tow/haul for the tranny and won't be much different on gas

Very likely, MDS will never engage while towing. Just the added wind load would probably block it.

Hit the Tow/Haul button once to keep it in 4th gear. If the trans still hunts between 3rd and 4th gear, hit the button again to keep the trans in 3rd gear. It's much better for the truck engine to turn a few more RPMs than for the trans to be shifting in and out of OD pulling heavy loads.
