2006 starting problem
Hello, I'm new here.
I live in Europe and bought this year a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi in the US. Normally these cars don't drive in Europe.
Since the car is here, it has a starting problem.
The first five times when you put the ignition key in the start position the starter does not turn.
Everytime you have to come back with the ignition key to the on/run position.
The sixth time when you put the ignition key in the start position, the starter turns and the engine runs.
After that there are no further problems.
It is always (yes always) the sixth time the starter turns and the engine runs.
In the garage, were they admit they have almost no experience with these cars, they tested all the computers. Everything was OK. The results of the tests were the same when the car started and when it did not start.
They told me there are 2 wires (called "can" or "canbus" don't know if it's correct in English) that connect all the modules and they can not be tested. They think the problem is somewhere in these cables or modules.
I contacted my seller but he can not help.
I contacted Dodge US and I'm still waiting for there answer.
So I'm searching and searching and so I arrived here at the US Dodge Forum.
Sorry for my English but i'm not used to it.
I hope you guys can help me. Do you have any experience?
Thanks anyway
Pat
