Ok so I followed the DIY on changing out the EGR valve and although it was a pain in the ***** for me (large person!!), it was completed. Bought the Valve (EGR1586) at Pep Boys vs. an online store, that way I can take it back local right away if need be, plus 1 year warranty. Anyways, I installed the valve, removed the PCM fuse, turned the key to on but didn't start, didn't get a CEL (which was weird), and then plugged it back in. Turned the key off then started the truck and no CEL again. So i let it sit for a second and the idling was at 800 then it dropped to 600. Is 600 too low for idling?

okay that sounds a lot better, I was hoping it was a typo if it was at 1600 there was something really wrong. I have adjusted my idle points but that sounds about right.
I figured 800 is the norm? Was just weird to see it drop down a bit. I just drove it down the street (10miles round trip) and it ran just fine and no CEL....
