Question Ignited Push button starter

just ordered it today....but i have a question before i put it in. like many others, im gonna place it in the existing cigarette lighter to the left of the radio bezel. however, that cigarette lighter does not work. i dont know why it doesnt work, it just will not heat up and no power gets to it when things are plugged into it. is this going to be a problem with the starter? if it is, what will i need to do?

You dont need power from the lighter. You will need to go under your steering wheel and find the starter wire and but it and route on side to the switch and the other wire to the other side of the switch.

Now IDK but if that button is illuminated and you want it that way when yeah you might need 12v from somewhere but you can also pull that from the AC controls or radio.

MC35, I've had thoughts of doing the change over too. Where did you find a suitable switch to fit the cigar lighter port? Did you every find out the cigar ltr port is powered w/the ignition coluum switch is on, only?

I guess the sw doesn't have to be push button, could be a momentary-on toggle as is found all over an aircraft cabin. Had a thought to install the sw near the base of the dvr's seat.
I'm going to search my DC shop manuals to see which leads to be disconnected from the steering coluum sw and run out to the remote located sw.
