engine stumbling problem
I have an '03 Ram 2500 hemi with a strange problem. The truck has about 21000 miles on it and is totally stock. On two occasions, about a year apart, the engine came very close to dying when running at about 35 mph. It felt like it was running on 3 or 4 cylinders and idled at about 200 rpm. No engine check lights came on. It felt like a clogged fuel filter, but within a couple of miles, the problem went away (both times as I entered the dealer's maintenance entrance!). I don't want this problem to recur when I'm towing the travel trailer or when making a long trip across the desert (where I live, every trip is a long trip).
Any ideas on what could be wrong, and what I should do about it?
Thanks - Ken Smith

My 02 does the same thing every now and again. Mostly when I come to a quick stop. but some times just at idle around 300. I started put a injector/tank cleaner in every 5k and the proble has not came back . It might be the gas you are getting, try another station.
mine has done something like that, only at low speeds (5-10mph) or at a dead stop. i drive the manual and ill be idling, out of gear foot off of clutch. one day i coasted around the corner and the engine shutoff on me. i know i didnt stall it because it wasnt in gear. truck was full of gas, problem i had with my old suburban if i stopped to fast when it was low on gas it would shutoff. does this sound like a fuel feed problem? other times are when im just startin the truck, on occasion it will sputter before it starts. any thoughts?
