Default Am I in the right hole??

Got my block heater, and thought it would be a 10 minute job, "just put it in the empty hole" everyone said... well... the hole isnt empty theres some kind of metal plug in it!
so can i just punch a hole in this plug and yank it out? it is just a thin, stamped piece of sheet metal.
am i even in the right hole? i have heard you have to pull a bolt out of the starter, but its a foot above the starter?!?!
took the pictures on my phone, so they are kinda hard to see...

I've never installed one but I found you a little reference material.

You got the one that goes behind the starter right? That one just slides in. I was looking to get one of those for my 03 but everywhere I looked said they dont work in the 03's only 04 and up. As far as I was informed the 03 dosnt have the hole for it.

If im wrong and I hope I am mabey someone here with an 03 and that block heater will chime in.

yeah, it fits in my 03, it is right where you said it was. i had to sand the rust out of the hole, and then i broke off the effin bolt right at the head! now i gotta drill the bolt out... problem is, i cant get the drill in there to drill it out, so it looks like im gunna have to take the starter off again, take the exhaust pipe off, drill the bolt out, hammer in an easy out, and start all over again... DAMIT!
so much for a 10 min job lol

good luck on your project though, broken off bolts always suck.
