How much weight can a lift kit handle?
Im thinking of buying this 07 Ram 3500 Megacab with a 4" Tuff Country Lift and 37" tires. Im curious how much weight could this lift kit handle on the front end? I am going to be plowing with it and dont wanna buy it if the lift kit wont hold up.
well a 4" with 37's doesent add up . if the 37's clear there must be some major trimin going on there.
as far as the lift goes ...anything with a plow is hard on suspension parts even if its factory or aftermarket.

Yea i agree, thats why i wanna make this work out with plowing. I have a 08 ram 2500 hemi right now that i plow with but it doesnt have near enough power as the cummins. I use to have a 06 cummuns and that thing pushed snow like nothin and towed like a breeze.
Nice truck!
However, those tires are too big for that lift. Looks like the fronts touch at 3/4-full turn and the backs are way too close for any suspension or bed sag. That's just too close to the fender/mudflap for my likings.
I'd say there is a 2" level kit on the front along with a 4" lift as it sits even with the back.
My suggestion is to add a 3" body lift and you'll be good to go, both front and rear.
37's shouldn't be on anything lower than 6" all way around along with a 2" front level. So that would be 8" for the front and 6" for the rear.

I would get with the tuff country people, it's their lift and they will be the ones you would need to consult with if something in the lift broke. In a logical sense, if the lift was made only for a 3500 then it should be able to carry the weight of a 3500 but but there is nothing documenting this.
No way that front won't touch when you put an 800lbs weight that extends out the front. I'd expect that suspension to sag a good 2" with a plow on the front. Those tires will surely touch by then, that's if they dont already touch??
That lift kinda makes that truck useless because as stated b4, the back is the same way. Add weight and the tires will scrub. Whomever put the lift on, went super budget on it. They shoulda done a 6" or else went with a smaller tire.
