Default Sluggish Acceleration.

So, i'm fairly new to forums like this, but i need a little bit of help. I just bought a 2004 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.7 liter hemi. Its in great shape. So i just installed an AFE intake and a glasspak exhaust. It sounds great, but now it accelerates pretty sluggishly. however, after installing these parts, i can now see off of one of the spark plugs an external spark. Its the second to front cylinder on the left side looking at the engine. I know that thats not normal but i want to know if thats where to problem is coming from. also what would the remedies be to fixing it. Any help would be great. Thanks all for your help.

Could be a bad coil or loose connection, but I think you would get a CEL for a misfire or something if that was the case.

I have the same problem right now.. From a stand still if I try to accelerate slowly the truck begins to, but then the rpms drop and I have to give abit more throttle and then all of a sudden it jumps back to life. It also surges a bit cruising at 50km/hr, but maintaining speed. It doesn't surge anywhere else.

I'm gonna clean my throttle body and do a seafoam treatment on Monday (i'm on nightshift...dammit ) and I'll let you know what happens. I also have a new EGR valve to put in, but I wanna see if that fixes it, because if it does I'm gonna return it.

I'm not throwing any codes so I'm not too sure if I need to replace the egr valve, you might wanna look into that as well.
