Need help!!
i dont know much about engines and i have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 5.9l v-8 and one of my pistons are shattered and i was wondering is it possible to replace the shattered piston or would i have to buy a new engine? please someone help me out i would really appreciate it!
i took it to a dodge dealership and had the engine boroscoped and they said that they found pieces of piston where the number one spark plug is... but the engine still cranks and runs but i dont drive it? so could the rest of the engine be ok?

If there is not any major internal damage I don't see why not. If it scratched the hell out of the cylinder wall your gonna lose compression but thats all. Even if it did cause a valve to bend or something along those lines I would think it would be cheaper to replace the parts instead of buying a whole new block and building it up new. If you do have to go this route though just drop in a Hemi instead. That's what I am going to do to mine when the motor goes, I love my truck and don't want to get rid of it for a long time.
