Default 2002 Ram 1500 engine noise?

I need some help with my truck. I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 v6 with 116,000 miles. About 2 weeks ago i was coming into Austin from dallas after driving the truck a 1000 miles in a week. When i got into town i noticed that in park and nuetral if you rev the engine its louder than normal or sounds like its under a heavier load. In drive same deal seems to shift fine at regular speed but sounds almost like its running with the over drive off. Any ideas or where do i start to figure it out. I just moved to Austin and I'm under a serious budget strain it would be nice to fix this without having to take it somewhere. Thanks

That could be it even when im revving it myself it seems like the fan is what i here. Would that also make it have higher rpms when driving? at 70mph at about 2300 rpm?
