Default P3449 - Code

So my check engine light came on,
used the SC to get the code, P3449 Cylinder 7 MSD not working.

My co-worker tells me it may be due to the CAI I installed, and that CAI voids warranty.

Anybody with info on whether I should put the OEM back on before going to dealer?

Put the OEM back on... clear the code. See what happens.

Clear the code by removing neg from battery for a few moments.

Installing a different intake or no intake at all would have no effect on the MDS activation of any of the cylinders. MDS works off of oil pressure so if your needing an oil change, then that could be a contributing factor as well as pouring in a thicker weight oil. 5w-20 should be used on all MDS engines.

If you've got a SC tuner, then why not just turn the MDS off? the transmission shifts so much smoother with that crap turned off. My mileage didn't change either since it was always kicking on/off/on/off/on/off.
Some dealers may gripe about an intake, but no way shape or form can an intake void warranty.

First things first...When was your last oil change..R u due?
2nd. if you do go to the dealer, it's easiest just to install the oem intake back on so there's no crying from the dealer and don't forget to return your tune back to stock as well. get that SC tune outta there b4 u bring it in 4 service.

I cleared the code with the SC, it came back.
I changed oil 1900 miles ago, so I am not due again.
I will put the OEM and take it in tomorrow, I will consider turning MDS off alltogether, as I honestly did not even know it was an option.
I got the SC as a bday gift last year, and i just used it for the first time this weekend to read the code.

thanks
