So i was driving around the other day (ok it was like 3 months ago) and I hit a big bump and knocked my front number plate off. I found that the dealer had mounted the bracket diretly to the plastic bumper cover (I have a sport), and not to the actual brace inside te bumper.

The metal brace in the cover had pilot dimples in it that i drilled out and then used long screws with bolts to mount a new aftermarket license plate bracket. It actually looks a lot better than stock... will post when I am within 7000 miles of my truck.
