Got my S.O.B block heater in
i know you guys have trouble reading more than a couple sentences, and there is really nothing all too important in this post, just the story of how my "30min" block heater install took 6 hours... so if you dont want to read, by all means dont
Well, I finally got my block heater in... for those of you who didnt see my post from the first time i tried putting it in, i will recap...
first i was in the wrong hole, so i posted on here and was redirected to the right hole, then i had to remove the starter, no prob. then i had to sand out the hole because the heater is a really tight fit and there was some rust in it. then i had to try to get the bolt in a hole that has seen 6 wisconsin winters of salt and rust
i tried everything to clean the hole, and spent a good amount of time working the bolt in and out and thought i had it good enough to put the bolt in, well i didnt, i snapped the 'EFFIN bolt off!
by then it was dark and i had to put it all back together and wait for another day.
so today i put it back up on ramps, pulled the starter, and tried to get that dam bolt out. it was hardened so drilling it out was practically impossible, so i tried cutting a slot in it and using a screwdriver (there was a couple threads sticking out not enough to get a vice grips on tho) and that didnt work. i had no clue how i was gunna get that bastard out, then i had a cobbler hillbilly idea
"i'll just weld dat some bitch in ther"
so i pulled out the welder, and stuck the heater in and put a gob of weld on the broken off bolt and heater bracket, it was just a little tack weld, but should hold and since i'm NEVER gunna take that thing out its not a big deal.
well... thats how you make a 20 minute job take 6 hours. all because of that effin, betch, bastard,****,hell, pisstrap, jacka$$ bolt
sorry, no pics on this one, i just wanted to vent... sorry to make you read
