I have a 02 ram 5.9 truck.It was making a whining noise lately and everyone who heard it thought it was the power steering,as did I.I changed the pump tonight and started it up and now its worse than before,the steering is stiff and the whine even louder,after listening closely to it it sounds like it is coming more from the top of the motor.Any ideas?Thanks for the help. sounds like you have air in the system. You need to lift your front wheels off the ground. Turn your wheel alll the way left and then all the way right like 20 or 30 times.(not running) Then start that some'biotch up and see if that helped.

ohh, make sure you keep an eye on the fluid and make sure it's got enough in there after the bleed process.
