Hey bwheelersc, im buying new Nitto Terra Grapplers monday From a dealer that matched a lower price online. i would have been paying $230 a piece and i found the Nitto's online for only $180. its saving me a good amount of money. Go to discounttiredirect.com and search for the Nitto Terra Grappler in Your size.

I really like my Wrangler Silent armors. They are an AT tire but somehow they are quieter than the stock tires. And yes I have taken them in some mud, sand, and rocks and they never miss a beat.

What size, if I may ask? I just put 265/65/17s (31.5"x10.5") on my Grand Cherokee and paid $137 a tire...

I'm goin with 285/70/17 E's which are 10 ply and more expensive. They are also $220 mounted and balanced which will cost 10-15 bucks a tire. I've also looked at the Silent Armors but I was quoted 275 a piece and about wet myself, to rich for my blood, but I do have a buddy that got 80k out of his Silent Armors.

Yeah the biggest downside with the silent armors is the price. Was about $600 for everything just for two tires and I am only running the stock 275/60/-20.

But I do love them.

I paid $160ish a tire for Terra Grapplers in 295/70/17, they're great tires.

Ah but those are the stock tires that are the Wangler HPs or the Wrangler SA or something or another which have some less-than-desirable traits. However the tire I am talking about is the wrangler silent armor, which is an A/T tire and I think superb.

Everyone has to keep in mind that just because one manufacturer makes one horrible product does'nt mean they all are bad.

Here's an example: **** box Jeep Compass and the great Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. One is very bad and the other is very good even though it is from the same company as the terrible one.

Very true, i had the wrangler S/A's on mind which were OEM and they are as bad as a tire gets--totally worthless unless the pavement is dry and smooth.
