Default Good Head Unit for under $100

I posted this same thing in the audio/visual forum but i recieved no replies, so hopefully i am able to get some help here.I am looking for a good head unit for under 100 dollars. Is there anything good in that price range? I want it to have an aux imput so i can use an ipod. And the only thing i will have connected to it is the stock speakers, a rockford fodgate amp, and a 10 inch alpine sub. I do plan to upgrade my speakers and maybe get different subs in the future, so i would like the head unit to be good for a full sound system. And does the wattage on the head unit matter if you are going to be using an amp for your speakers and subs anyway?

-all help appretiated

Watts doent matter in the HU if you are using a amp

But you cant use the word "good" when looking for a HU for 100 or less. You would be better off using the word "basic" because thats all you are going to get. Your best bet is to go on ebay and look for some used Pioneer HUs. Even if they do not have a face front Aux inputr they have a P-bus connection in the rear and I have a box and IPOD cable (for sale on another board) that plugs into those Pioneer HUs so you can add an IPOD.

While Weedahoe probably won't consider it a "good" HU, I've got a Dual HU with bluetooth, usb and aux input on the face, and pretty much all the bells and whistles except for HD radio and I'm pretty friggin happy with it. It's similar to the one in the link. The one in the link is the newest version of the one I've got and is $20 cheaper than what I paid.

Hope that helps.

Hey, its not what I like but what YOU like. While I dont think (thats My opinion) thats the best quality HU to have, thats a lot of features for the buck to have.

buy really anything that fits that price range and has something you like. basically pick on looks because really as far as quality and features for that price you arn't gonna get anything that great. truly if you're hooking up an amp and sub you are just wasting your time if you buy a cheap *** head unit. at minimum you should have a mid grade pioneer or alpine radio if your running external amplifiers. there are other brands but for radios the two i mentioned pretty much run the show. kenwood aint too bad either JVC isn't god awful but it's a minimum.. sony blows....

Sorry Weedahoe, I wasn't trying to start an e-fight. While it ain't top of the line, it's a step up from stock and the usb port alone made it worthwhile. I can carry my whole CD collection on a couple thumb drives and never have to worry about someone stealing my cds.

Up next is new speakers and a sub and amp for my hotbox.
