The reason ive ate ramen noodles for a month.
So did no one pick up on the 2wd does it even have a locker in the rear for better traction and also that thing must be pretty slow for a 4.7 have you gotten gears all things to think about
dont get me wrong it looks great and all and I would love to have one that high and rims and tires but it needs to be 4x4 to really put it to god use

You might be able to forget the idea of a locker, but I would definitely get some 4.56 gears for those 35's, and maybe a tuner. I'm better that 4.7 doesn't feel as quick anymore. The locker all depends on the driving you want to do. maybe a LSD might be the way to go for mostly pavement. I have a locker and 4.56's but then again I live in michigan with a 4x4. Nice looking truck!
everybody really under estimates that 4.7 its really not that bad but i do have a street queen and have no problems with it i tow stuff and its got plenty of power i mean its no hemi or a 09 but i still got umphhhh and plenty of it.....op looks good might wanna adjust that gap in the front bumper though looks a lil low near the wheels....
Yep. but with dodge's horrible LSD youre only spinning the front left and rear right most of the time in 4wd anyway. thats only two wheels. That means im only one powered wheel away from being 4wd. that means im 3wd, and three rounds up to four so technically it is a real 4wd.
i got 4000k, meh. with my driving lights (hellas) on you can see a difference from them, with just my headlights on i cant tell a thing. i had just heard of problems out of HIDs for 9007s so i got em as a substitute but im gonna go HID instead. seeing mine compared to my buddies 6 and 8ks make me
Spindles-200
blocks-35
spacers-35
body lift-300 shipped (friend price, its more like 400+ but im good like that)
not bad for what i got, but i also installed all of it myself and saved major $$$ in labor. all were very easy jobs, other than a cutting torch for the brackets on the front bumper with the b/l, all can be installed with basic hand tools in a weekend. or a good full days work if you have a friend with you and work fast (and dont stop for beverages, watching football, or conversation like we did) but it could def. all be done in a day. but its gonna ride like hammered damnit until you get it aligned, like BAD, but just to the alignment shop youll be ok if you can do basic caster adjustments yourself.
I was waiting on this. i knew there would be at least one "boo, its not a real 4x4, hand over your testes" post.
let me reitterate-
-i dont go offroad in this. its my dd, im not gonna risk tearing it up. if i wanna go offroad, ill buy another mud toy.
-i just like the look. i was tired of lowered bs. i dont like having to caddy corner up driveways, dodge potholes, worry about dirt roads, etc. like i did with my car, and other lowered rides ive had.
-this will probably start a can of worms, but off roading is 70% driver, and 30% vehicle. if for some reason i ever HAD to put it in mud, or go offroad (unlikely) im a good enough driver where i can handle it. This truck has been in sand pits (baby sand dunes) , been hunted out of, deer camp, etc. several times, on street tires, in stock form, no problem. its all about technique, throttle control, and in thick stuff, momentum.
-plus, these trucks are so damn big in the first place, if i was laying frame id still be level rooflines with a stock z71.
but to answer your question, yes, i will be doing gears, im going to be running 4.56s so i can have more low end grunt and still romp on the highway, they will be coming in the next few weeks.
and if i wanted fast, i wouldnt have bought a dodge pickup. its got plenty of power to turn the tires and pull a small atv trailer and fishing boat, it works for me.
in my opinion, its form and function. maybe not as functional as a real 4by but i dont need it enough to warrant it. so me and my slow little 4.7 will be just fine together.
Yeah, i didnt notice that til the pics and now its annoying the hell out of me. if i can get a day where its not raining im gonna put the tint on, do my gapguards and adjust the bumper.
thanks again for the warm responses.
