ok i have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 4x4, with the 4.7L v8 and automatic trans, and it over heated and threw a rocker out from under the cam on each side and damaged a head and valve cover, and for the price of getting a head, all the gaskets and valve cover i can get a 5.7L hemi (from a 2005 dodge durango, auto, 4x4) from a friend for $1300, so i want to drop it in, so what im asking is what do i need to get, change, etc... and do's, dont's, tips, tricks, etc... i was told the trans will work that i already have in the truck, and that it will bolt to the same engine mounts, i know the engine accessories are a different configuration, can any of the 4.7 accessories be used, like the alt, starter, ac comp, i also know the engine computer has to be changed to the 5.7 one, but does the trans need anything different, will anything else need to be changed or fixed, cuz i was told by the friend that all of the dash, trans and everything wont work even if i get the engine computer for the 5.7 put in, so idk whats what with that to know if its true, so any help, knowledge or tips would be very helpful, thanks
