Default Center Console Help

Hello All, I have an 02 dodge ram, 3rd gen. I have electronic 4x4, so the switch is mounted on my dash, so the entire center floor is wide open. I was wondering if anybody has put in a floor console, like this one:

I think that's out of an 06? How hard would this be to do, or where can I get one? Any aftermarket ones? I want good cup holders and a place to throw my junk. Let me know if anybody's gone down this route before. Thanks!

Alex

Actually, you would have to remove the folding cupholder assembly.

Another member on here did that. Not too sure if you need to replace the center portion of the seat as they are different as well???
Eitherway, there aint nothing out there used so the dealer is your only friend....lol

Yeah, I try not to use the middle flip down cup holder. Probably because I had a 98 ram before this, and it broke and failed. It wouldn't stay up, and then the hinge on its side broke off. I know it's a new Gen, but it just scares me. I don't want to ruin it. I would only need a half floor console, to fit snug with my middle seat. I could just bolt it down I'm guessing. The new 06+ rams have completely different seats, and I wouldn't really want to swap them all out. I like the two-tone leather seats I have And they are heated!

I leave my cupholder tray open all the time. Now that I have a doble din, I lost my little tray beneath the radio for my wallet and phone. i just use one of the cupholders for them. Never any need to close it, therefore it shall never break.

Lol. True. Under my stock infinity stereo it has a panel that has all the climate control, and under that panel is another panel with the electronic 4x4, heated seats, etc. I wouldn't be able to remove that.

The pocket I was referring to is in the pic you posted. Directly under the radio, there is a pocket that is as wide and maybe 1.5" high. I lost that once I installed a double din bezel.

*edit....you have an '02. i didn't realize.

Lol yeah, I was going to say I have an 02 It a bit different. Where that pocket is, I have a flip-down cupholder and a flip-out ashtray. Yay for me.. lol.. not really. I think if I took those out it would be nasty behind there, and I don't want to get too extensive, like playing with fiberglass and bondo to make it look nice.
