Rear end question

Default Rear end question

Looking to find out what rear end is in a 08 dodge ram 1500 I got the s/n off the rear along with some other ones hoping this will tell me what rear it has in it. 52114222aa these 2 were up towards the front of it gsc5 and 8067 Can anyone tell me what these mean? any help is greatly appreciated. I dont know why dodge stopped putting the drive line info in the glove box like in my dakota I know what transfer case, tranny and rear I have

9.25" (or 9-1/4) corporate axle (been around since 1973).

i had a sticker on my rear axle near the disk but on the backside that was visible from the rear of the truck.....mine came 3:92....or if you buy it request a build sheet from chrysler....

didnt see any tag on the rear about the gears my friend likes the truck but only wants it if it has 3.55's instead of 3.92's he wants 3.55's for mpg

you explain it cause no matter what I say he is not going to listen to me maybe if he hears it from other dodge guys it might sway his mind.

The pickup with 3.55's is going to have to work harder to accelerate to speed, maintain speed and pull anything. The 3.92's will be running a bit higher RPM but it won't have to work as hard and shift down near as much.

huh, i am surprised the specs were not in the glovebox. Most people, even with 08s, seem to have it.

Good luck on selling him on the 3.92s, they are worth it.
