Rancho MyRide wireless controller installation
Rancho had the free MyRide wireless controller offer this summer and I needed new shocks anyway so I bought 4 of the RS9000XL series shocks and a new steering stabilizer. I installed them when I got them in August. The free MyRide system showed up a week or so ago so I installed it yesterday.
The kit comes with a small compressor, a receiver/shock controller, wiring, ty-raps and air line tubing and cutter.
I mounted the compressor to the rear of the stock air filter box.

I mounted the receiver on top of the fan shroud.

Now it's time to remove the original control **** and replace it with a new 90 degree air line fitting.

I then ran the airline and wrapped it in some of the split loom.

I then ran the rear line. I followed the driver side frame rail and wrapped it in the split loom anywhere there were sharp edges. It was ty-rapped along to keep it in place. I T'd the rear shocks at the top of the rear diff where the ABS sensor wiring is.

I then wired the receiver to a keyed power source. I used the supplied fuse piggy-back stab and used the cig lighter 20 amp fuse as the keyed supply.

Once the key was on I set the different settings and I could hear the compressor kick on or the air leak down if I went to a lower setting.

I was sooo close to buying the whole set-up and using the compressor for my airbags instead of the shocks. BUT, I ended up going on vacation to the Virgin Islands. i think that was a fair trade off....lol
Install looks good man. I'm a huge ziptire fanatic. Really keeps things neat and organized. How do they feel on the road? How worn were your shocks before that your comparing them too? that makes a big difference.

I have been using the shocks for 2 months already. They ride 100% better than the originals from 2003 with almost 84,000 miles. What will be nice is not crawling under the truck to adjust the shocks. I firm them up to setting 9 for towing our camper. It keeps the porpoising to a minimum. I will also be able to fine tune the ride with the plow on. I have not done any road tests yet to determine the best ride on different roads.
