I guess I could throw on the stock airbox and pressure wash it? Would I leave it running if I did this, and should I avoid spraying the battery?

I was going all over to hit the worst of it for the hell of it. It doesn't look like much with this crappy camera but it was some pretty soupy $hit.

As long as you're careful you should be OK. Maybe just cover up the intake with a thick towel and it seems to do the trick, at least with a garden hose.

And for the battery I would avoid spraying it too. Just don't let anything touch it because of the possibility of acid conamination. or you could throw away whatever was covering it after you have cleaned the engine.
