Default Wheel Bearings

I have an 02 Dodge ram 1500 4wheel drive and have noticed what sounds like the wheel bearings growling. Can you just replace the weheel bearing or repack them?I was told that you have to buy a whole hub assembly if you want to change them.Is that true? Thanks.........

my truck was grinding and it turned out to be the bearings, you cant repack them because there sealed so you have to replace the whole assembly, wasnt too bad once you got past the fact that the old ones were impossible to get off, ended up using a impact hammer and then a sledge hammer after that
