Default OK, How Much Is It Going To Cost To Fix My Truck? Engine Light On And I Have The Code

OK I went to do a few errands today and when I turned my truck on the engine light came on but the truck is running fine and no weird noises or anything. So I zipped into a Firestone since I know they hook vehicles up to their computers for free and it came up with the code "Radiator Fan Control Relay Circuit" or something damn close to that. Is this some kinda fuse hopefully or do I need to take her in? I know someone here will know whats up. Thanks!

dunno if I'd keep driving it if your fan doesn't kick on. Keep an eye on your temp guage!
not sure how much the fix is or how easy or not?

I had that and it was fine after I replaced the fuse. Its fuse number I think 39. Look under the lid. I just changed the 25 amp fuse, didn't touch the relay, and reset it and it was fine. Try that

You have an e-fan that talks to the computer? I suspect an '02 had the garden-variety mechanical fan with a t-stat. This fan would not advise of a "relay circuit" issue. Most likely this is your A/C coolant fan. It's loss is not so catastrophic, especially with winter coming. It will affect the defroster.

Well I did a little Googling and came up with that it may be the condenser fan fuse, so I pulled out fuse #39 (25 A) for the condenser fan (according to the diagram on the fuse cover), and replaced the fuse with a new one, which by the way, the old one you could totally tell it was blown. I disconnected battery for 10 minutes and hooked her back up and the engine light is not lit anymore! 4.89 cent fix! (I had to buy a 5 pack of fuses). And also on the way to the part store I tried my AC and it would not blow cold air, it does now! Thank god it was just a fuse!

You know what, now that uve mentioned that, my defroster is def messed up. It blows cold air, and the heat is a little colder than normal too. Just noticed cause the temps dropping here now, changed fuse in the summer. Do you think that's what it is? Cause I changed the .17 cent fuse, and the check engine light went away. But no overheating, maybe change the relay that's in the fuse box too?

I posted what I did before going through the thread again. You are exactly right, down to the fuse number and everything. Right on! Truck is back to normal!

You talkin' about the big black ones in the fuse box as well, right? If so, I would change it, couldnt hurt and it beats taking it in and paying some ******* to do it for 60 dollars an hour.

That fan has nothing to do with engine cooling. It's the A/C condenser only.
