Exhaust question
So I can keep the cats in the stock location and put LT headers in and just cut back the Y Pipe? I was gonna have a Y-pipe fabbed up anyway, So if this is the case I think that is what ill do.
No the LT's will push the cats back almost the full length of the cats themselves but there should be enough room to get the Y to fit in the stock location, if not it would only move it back a few inches (no more than 6" I would think). You'll have to trim the pipes coming off the cats to the Y though.
I thought/assumed you were going with a kit, which the one I have with my headers and no cats put the Y in the stock location, but adding the cats back in will probably end up moving it further down depending on room, but I dont think it be by that much.

Maybe next summer ill break out the welder, Touch up my skills (Haven't welded anything in a few years), Go buy some 2.5" pipe, hangars, etc.. and redo my exhaust from scratch. Until then I think i will just pull the resonators and replace the muffler.
Really, until my drivetrain warranty is up and I can swap out the cam, I may not bother with the headers.

If you do all that work, headers,Y pipe and true dual exhaust. You will loss your back psi. and that will make you loss torque. If you do it all, look into geting your PCM. flashed. D.C. Performance did my trucks. It's like night and day. It was $650 for the Hemi.
